Your Expectations of the Oasis Centre

Our counsellors will endeavour to make an appointment with you at the earliest available time, usually within a week from making the initial contact. At your appointed session, you are most welcome to bring along a spouse, partner, family member or support person.

In relation to our agency, you will be assured of CONFIDENTIALITY with exception to:

when your counsellor perceives a risk of harm to yourself and/or to others, or

when your counsellor consults with Oasis staff and supervisor/s on your case whereby utmost care will be exercised to conceal your identity from these consultants

Brief Description of Our Service

To provide an holistic approach which empowers people with gambling and other addiction problems to make positive choices for a healthy lifestyle

Main Programmes Offered

Professional counselling for gamblers, their partners, family members and others affected by gambling problems.

Professional assessment, ongoing support, follow-up and referral services.

All our services are free and confidential.

Other Affiliate Services.

The Oasis Centre is also part of The Salvation Army, therefore we have many services that support us, such as; budgeting, food bank, social work, parenting, anger management, child care, foster-care and emergency housing.

We are also part of The Salvation Army Addiction Programme therefore we are able to refer people to the Bridge Centre who specialise in alcohol and drug treatment.

The Oasis Centre has strong networking relationships within the wider community and are able to offer referrals to many community service providers.

Staffing Information

The Oasis Cente in Waikato currently employs two full time counsellors who are professionally trained in areas including addiction, relationships, mental health, bi-cultural and cross cultural issues.

Location of Clinics

The main office is situated in Garden Place in the centre of Hamilton City. While our Hamilton office services the Central Waikato area, we also offer weekly outreach clinics further south at Tokoroa and Paeroa. If you would like an appointment in either of these clinics please contact our Hamilton office.
